Our truck is a 2005 Ford F350 diesel 4X4 Super Duty with
a TowCommand system. The trailer is a 24ft 2006 Platinum Coach
gooseneck, designed specifically for alpacas and their comfort:
- wireless camera mounted in the trailer and monitor in
the cab enables the driver to keep an eye on the animals
at all times
- remote temperature/humidity gauge ensures comfortable
climate
- extra windows with screens for maximum ventilation
- fans to increase air flow
- fully insulated for comfort in any weather
- air conditioning
- we will never crowd animals; each alpaca is given 8 ½
square feet of space
- trailer can be separated into 3 or more pens when needed
- 3 entrance and exit doors
- alpaca/llama emergency medical kit on board
- 24-hour roadside service with spares for the truck and
trailer
We take every measure to ensure the comfort of your animals:
- scheduled stops every 3-4 hours allow animals to stand,
eat and drink, and let crias nurse
- Evan walks through to inspect each animal closely, allowing
him to catch any problems before they become a threat
- fresh hay and water provided daily
- padded floor is generously topped with a fresh layer of
hay every day
- poop is scooped at least twice a day
- trailer is cleaned and disinfected after every trip
